- What age children do you take?
- Ages 3-5 years old. Children must be 3 or 4 by September 1.
- What classes are available?
- 3-year-old – Tuesday and Thursday – 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- 4-year-old – Monday , Wednesday and Friday -OR- Monday through Friday – 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m
- What is the primary focus of your program?
- We prioritize Christian values, encouraging children to exemplify kindness, sharing, and care for the world entrusted to us. Our program places emphasis on:
- Socialization: Learning to play with others and fostering comfort in a group of children.
- Development: Nurturing a positive self-image.
- Enrichment: Providing new experiences in music, art, physical coordination, science, and books.
- Readiness: Working on skills to prepare for Kindergarten while experiencing the joy of learning.
- We prioritize Christian values, encouraging children to exemplify kindness, sharing, and care for the world entrusted to us. Our program places emphasis on:
- What do the children do each day?
- While the activities will vary for each age group, each class follows the same daily schedule:
- Center/Small Group Time: Each child gets to pick a center to play at while the teachers work with students in small groups.
- Circle Time: Calendar, finger plays and songs, Bible stories and discussions about the weekly themes.
- Outdoor Play: Outdoor activities are a daily highlight.
- Developmental Activities: Engaging in creative art, promoting language development through conversation and developmental worksheets and fine motor skills.
- While the activities will vary for each age group, each class follows the same daily schedule:
- How do you discipline children?
- In a happy and busy environment, we have few discipline problems and these are usually solved by suggestion and redirection. The ultimate discipline is to remove the child from the situation and let him/her sit in a chair and discuss their negative choices and what choices are expected.
- Do you take field trips?
- The 4-year-old classes take monthly field trips to local nursing homes. Other field trips taken are to the fire station, pumpkin patch, the zoo, and to Elk City Lake for a nature hike at the end of the preschool year.
- How do we enroll our child?
- Fall enrollment begins in early spring. Call us at (620) 331-0719, visit the church office for an enrollment form, or connect with the director by emailing our Preschool Director, Mary Wilson, at [email protected]. We also welcome tours of the classrooms and meetings with our teachers on a scheduled basis.
- How much does it cost?
- A non-refundable registration fee is required at time of enrollment. The four year old students will receive a preschool t-shirt.
- Registration & Supply fee:
- 3-Year-Old Class – $90.00.
- 4-Year-Old Class – $90.00.
- Tuition:
- 3-Year-Old Class – 2 Days Per Week – $120.00 per month
- 4-Year-Old Class – 3 Days Per Week – $150.00 per month
- 4-Year-Old Class – 5 Days Per Week – $230.00 per month
- Registration & Supply fee:
- A non-refundable registration fee is required at time of enrollment. The four year old students will receive a preschool t-shirt.
- Is there transportation to and from school?
- At this time we do not offer transportation services.
- How many children are in each class?
- We are authorized for a license capacity of 16 children in each class, with two teachers.
- Are your teachers experienced?
- Our teachers have degrees in Early Childhood Education. They are also required to receive 16 clock-hours of approved in-service training annually.
