Youth Mission Statement
With our eyes on the future, we are searching to know Christ’s purpose for us, as individuals and youth of First United Methodist Church of Independence. We are building Christ-centered lives through prayer, Bible study, missions, recreational activities, and fellowship. Through our witness and faith, we are striving to love others as God loves us.
Youth Education – Sunday School – 9:30 am
Sunday School is cancelled due to the Covid-19 at this time.
Both Middle and Senior High meet for breakfast together in Wesley Center at 9:30 am then break off into their smaller groups.
The Middle School (6th-8th Grade) move to the Education Building to room 205 for a current events discussion that is centered around Christ. Confirmation classes are offered every two years for youth twelve years and up.
The Senior High (9th – 12th Grade) move to the Education Building to room 303 for a Bible based ,current events discussion.

Mid and Senior High Youth meet for fellowship and learning in Gault Hall Sunday evenings at 4:30 pm unless otherwise noted on the calendar. It’s opportunity to learn about God in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We also participate in local community service projects as we can.
Breakfast is canceled due to the Covid-19.
The first Sunday of each month the youth hold a breakfast fundraiser to help with the cost of the youth group activities. The youth prepare, serve and clean up breakfast for the congregation all for a free will offering donation. The start cooking at 8:45 am and breakfast is served from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. And, of course, they get to eat too.
