Youth Mission Statement

With our eyes on the future, we are searching to know Christ’s purpose for us, as individuals and youth of First United Methodist Church of Independence.  We are building Christ-centered lives through prayer, Bible study, missions, recreational activities, and fellowship.  Through our witness and faith, we are striving to love others as God loves us.

Youth Group

Mid and Senior High Youth meet for fellowship and learning in Gault Hall Sunday evenings at 5:30 pm unless otherwise noted on the calendar.  It’s opportunity to learn about God in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.  Dinner is provided.  We also participate in local community service projects as we can.

The first Sunday of each month the youth hold a breakfast fundraiser to help with the cost of the youth group activities.  The youth prepare, serve and clean up breakfast for the congregation all for a free will offering donation.  The start cooking at 8:45 am and breakfast is served from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.  And, of course, they get to eat too.
